All-New Toyota Land Cruiser Commercial Revealed
Toyota has lifted the covers on the brand-new Land Cruiser Commercial, a rugged load-carrying version of its sell-out SUV. Designed for those who need serious off-road capability without the extra seating or payload of a Hilux, this latest model combines toughness with a much higher level of comfort and equipment than before.
Built for Business, Backed by Heritage
Based on the J250-generation Land Cruiser SUV - which sold out rapidly in the UK - the Commercial version undergoes a specialist conversion at Toyota’s Burnaston facility. The process removes the back seats and interior trim, replacing them with a flat load floor, steel mesh bulkhead, and window inserts, creating a robust and practical cargo space.
The result is a load bay measuring:
- 1,685mm long
- 1,090mm high
- 1,286mm wide (maximum)
- With a 2,000-litre cargo capacity (VDA measurement)
On top of this, the Land Cruiser Commercial boasts a 3,500kg towing capacity, making it a serious workhorse for professional users.
Outstanding Off-Road Performance
Toyota has ensured the Commercial keeps all the legendary off-road DNA of the Land Cruiser. Highlights include:
- 205mm ground clearance
- 700mm wading depth
- 32° approach and 17° departure angles
- High and low gear ratios
- Multi-Terrain Select, Crawl Control, Hill-Start Assist, and Downhill Assist
This means whether it’s construction sites, farms, or rural tracks, the Land Cruiser Commercial is more than ready to take on demanding conditions.
Strong Diesel Powertrain
Under the bonnet is a 2.8-litre, four-cylinder turbo diesel, producing 205hp and 500Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It delivers fuel economy of 26.4mpg (WLTP) and CO₂ emissions of 276g/km.
Looking ahead, Toyota plans to introduce a 48-volt mild-hybrid system in early 2026, offering smoother engine start-ups and added refinement across the Land Cruiser range.
