LOCTITE Launches New Adhesive Range to Support EV Repairs and Sustainability
As the automotive industry accelerates towards electrification, vehicle repair professionals are facing a new set of challenges. Recognising this, LOCTITE has launched a new portfolio of adhesives specifically designed for the e-mobility repair sector.
The range includes thermal gap fillers, gasketing solutions, threadlockers, and retaining compounds, all engineered to support EV battery and e-drive repairs. Each product is designed not only to improve the lifespan of critical components but also to contribute to wider sustainability goals - helping workshops repair rather than replace expensive components.
According to LOCTITE, repairing EV batteries instead of replacing them can cut costs by up to 77% and reduce CO₂ emissions by as much as 91%. These adhesives meet stringent EV safety and performance standards, particularly for thermal management, and offer simplified handling with quick-cure or no-cure options, allowing workshops to work safely, efficiently, and productively.
Beyond performance, sustainability is a key focus of the new portfolio, aligned with LOCTITE’s 4R framework: Repair, Reuse, Remanufacture, Recycle. By promoting circular repair practices, LOCTITE aims to reduce waste and environmental impact across the EV lifecycle, supporting cleaner, more efficient transportation for fleets and vehicle operators alike.
