Renault Unveils the All-New Trafic E-Tech: A Next-Generation Electric Van Built for Business
Renault has officially revealed the production-ready Trafic E-Tech electric van, marking a major step forward in the brand’s EV line-up. With first deliveries expected in late 2026, this new model is set to offer businesses more choice, more capability, and a future-focused alternative to diesel without compromising practicality.

Built on a new platform optimised for load capacity, the Trafic E-Tech aims to offer the versatility and toughness that the Trafic range is known for, now with the benefits of electric power.
Renault says the van maintains an impressive 10.3-metre turning circle (the same as the Renault Clio), making it ideal for urban routes and tight delivery areas.
Multiple body styles will be offered after launch, including:

Long Range, Fast Charging, and Urban Options
One of the standout features is the 280-mile driving range, positioning the Trafic E-Tech among the longest-range electric vans in its class.
For businesses working tight schedules, Renault has added 800V fast-charging capability, delivering up to 162 miles of range in just around 20 minutes - a major advantage for keeping vehicles on the road.
Renault will also introduce a more affordable 217-mile urban-range battery, using lithium iron phosphate (LFP) technology. Crucially, LFP chemistry contains no rare metals, helping reduce cost and environmental impact.
Built to Carry, Tow, and Work Hard
All models will feature a 204PS rear-mounted electric motor, offering strong performance for urban and motorway driving alike.
Key payload and towing features include:

· Up to two-tonne towing capacity
· L1 and L2 body lengths
· 5.1m² and 5.8m² load volumes
Large side and rear doors make it easy to load Euro pallets from multiple access points, while a reduced overall height means the van can enter all underground car parks - ideal for city-based businesses.
Smart Energy and Tech for Modern Fleets
Renault is equipping the Trafic E-Tech with cutting-edge energy features as standard:
· Vehicle-to-load (V2L) - power tools and appliances from the van directly
· Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) - support bi-directional charging and energy return
For fleets, a built-in driver identification system will generate QR codes via the interior display, helping track drivers and improve operational management.
Renault also plans to manufacture the Trafic E-Tech using more than 23% recycled materials, supporting sustainability goals for eco-conscious operators.
ICE Trafic Continues for Now
Renault has confirmed that the current diesel Trafic will continue to be produced alongside the new electric model, giving businesses the flexibility to transition to EVs at their own pace.
